15.06.2026 Development of a cultural strategy framework for the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace holds a rich and highly valuable cultural resource, ranging from tangible and intangible heritage to contemporary cultural activity. Its utilisation, however, remains fragmented and unsystematic, and has yet to be integrated into a coherent development framework. Polyptychon has been commissioned to develop a comprehensive Cultural Strategy Framework that will articulate a clear vision for culture in the Region and serve as a guide for cultural planning in the years ahead.
The framework will map and organise the Region's cultural assets, shape cultural routes and thematic clusters, introduce models for the sustainable management of resources, sites and activities, provide direction for actions funded through European and national programmes, and strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation between culture, tourism, agri-food and the creative industries. The aim is to reinforce regional identity, establish a strong and contemporary image of the Region as a cultural destination, and attract resources, investment and visitors through targeted actions.
