Virtual Museum of Alexander the Great
A 2,500-year journey in the footsteps of Alexander
In 2014, Polyptychon set out to create a digital museum dedicated to one of history’s most influential figures: Alexander the Great. The result is a unique interactive documentary of nearly five hours, structured into seven thematic sections. It presents 304 digital exhibits from across the Hellenistic world and more than 3,500 texts, inviting audiences on a 2,500-year journey with a view toward the future. To bring this ambitious project to life, Polyptychon, in collaboration with Altervision, traveled extensively across Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan, producing over 2,000 hours of audiovisual material. This content became the foundation for the digital storytelling experience.
