Municipal Art Gallery of Alexandroupolis

Designing spaces that nurture regional creativity

At Polyptychon, we are passionate about cultural projects that take root in regional cities — places where art and culture breathe new life into communities, perhaps even more than in the major urban centers. With the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the active participation of Alexandroupolis’ civic community, we undertook the design and implementation of the Municipal Art Gallery of Alexandroupolis. Our role was multi-layered: we built strong connections with the local community and the artists who donated their works; we developed the museological and conceptual framework of the permanent exhibition; we designed all exhibition structures and signage; we designed its visual identity and graphic language; photographed artworks, wrote texts and designed the exhibition catalogue; produced films; ensured the proper environmental conditions for exhibition and storage; and created a series of digital applications.
