Preserving the Maritime Heritage of the Aegean

The Museum of Aegean Boatbuilding and Maritime Crafts is a distinctive cultural institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing the maritime heritage of the Aegean Sea. Located directly by the waterfront on the island of Samos, underscoring the museum’s close dialogue with the sea, the museum stands as a tribute to the centuries-old traditions of wooden boatbuilding and seafaring craftsmanship that have shaped the identity of the region. Since 2018, Polyptychon has played a central role in the conception and realization of the museum’s identity and visitor experience. Our contribution encompasses the branding and visual identity, graphic design of the permanent exhibition, production of twenty documentary exhibition films, design and development of the museum’s web apps and in situ inetractive installations, audio guide, and exhibition catalogue.
