Soufli, the greek silk city, at Lyon

Soufli, Greece’s historic silk-producing town, was the honored guest city at SILK IN LYON – Festival de la Soie, the premier European event dedicated to silk. Our team delivered the exhibition’s museological and graphic design, presenting Soufli with clarity, authenticity, and strong aesthetic impact to an international audience.

This cultural initiative strengthened global visibility for both the region and Greece as a whole, fostering new social and commercial connections. The exhibition’s reception, highlighted by engagement from international delegations and recognition from the Greek Ambassador to France, underscored its significance.

We extend our appreciation to our partners at Chrysallida, as well as to the Honorary Consul of Greece in Lyon, the Municipality of Soufli, the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia & Thrace, and the Ministry of Culture for their collaboration and support in bringing this project to fruition.

From Soufli to Lyon – a travelling exhibition

The exhibition “From Soufli to Lyon” is a project that explores the historical and cultural connection between Soufli, the small border town known for its silk production, and Lyon, the European capital of silk.

In collaboration with Chrysalida Non-Profit Organization, the Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia–Thrace, and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Polyptychon undertook the conceptual and graphic design of the exhibition.

The show will be presented at the Palais de la Bourse in Lyon from 20 to 23 November 2025, marking the first stop in a touring exhibition that will later travel to several Greek cities.
